MTS in collaboration with the Oceanic Engineering Society of IEEE, will host the inaugural forum of the Interagency Working Group on Facilities and Infrastructure (IWG-FI), Importance of Conducting Research at Sea on Ships & Preserving the Federal Oceanographic Fleet, on Wednesday, September 20, 2017, as part of the OCEANS ’17 Conference, at the Dena’ina Convention Center in Anchorage, Alaska. The forum to include a keynote address, interactive ship telepresence, and town hall panel, will discuss the societal importance of ensuring the capacity of the federal oceanographic fleet is preserved, so as not to diminish the capacity to conduct scientific research at sea.
